Cedar Shake Cabin

The Family Cabin
Our Shawnigan Lake Shared Family Cabin throughout the summer vacations.
We lovingly call it “the little cabin,” a place filled with history and character. Built in 1948 by our great-uncle, it has been a quiet retreat for generations—a place where simple comforts and natural surroundings come together.
The little cabin isn’t just a place to stay—it’s a timeless getaway where memories are made, and the pace of life slows down.
In 1947, Jack and Laura Clay built “The Little Cabin.”

This charming one-bedroom cabin has a cozy, welcoming feel. The bedroom features a practical and nostalgic single-over-double bunk bed, perfect for families or guests. Inside, you’ll also find a bathroom with a sink and shower, along with a separate water closet for added convenience.
The heart of the cabin is its warm and inviting living space, which includes a fully functional kitchen and a comfortable living room—ideal for relaxing after a day outdoors. Tucked away is a quaint alcove with a single bed, offering an extra sleeping nook that adds to the cabin’s unique layout.
One of the highlights is the outdoor covered deck, where you can truly embrace cabin life. It features a queen bed for open-air sleeping, along with a large table and chairs—perfect for shared meals, morning coffee, or evening gatherings surrounded by fresh air.
Just steps away, a spacious dock extends out over the water, complete with a charming gazebo. It’s the perfect place to unwind, take in the view, or enjoy peaceful moments by the water.
